WINTERBORNE CAME
Brass plaque on wall in St Peter's church.

To the Glory of God and in Loving Memory of Lieut. The Hon. George Seymour Dawson-Damer. 10th Hussars, (2nd son of George 5th Earl of Portarlington) Who diesd of Woynds fecieved in Action at Monchy=le-Preux near Arras, on April 13th 1917, aged 24 years. His mortal remains lie buried in the British Cemetery at Gouy-en-Artois. The Grave wa marked by this Cross which was replaced by a Headstone in 1921.

In loving memory of Capt. William Frederick Martin I.C.P. who died 6 Oct. 1947 aged 73, and his wife Christian Norah Dawson Damer daughter of the 5th Earl of Portarlington who died 29 March 1959 aged 68 who had married firstly The Hon. Fergus Bowes-Lyon Black Watch killed in action 1915.
